I’m Dr. Courtney Ferenz

For over 15 years, I have been dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and young adults navigate anxiety, OCD, and related challenges. I believe that therapy is more than just treatment—it’s a collaborative process built on trust, connection, and expert guidance.

Whether you're a parent seeking support for your child or a young adult struggling with overwhelming thoughts, my goal is to provide a warm, professional space where you feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.

Expertise & Treatment Areas

Every person’s experience is unique, and therapy should be too.

I use research-backed approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) to provide thoughtful, personalized care that meets you or your child where you are.

I specialize in helping individuals and families navigate:

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Selective Mutism & Social Anxiety

  • Tourette’s Syndrome & Tic Disorders

  • Trichotillomania & Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs)

  • Parent Guidance & Support

  • Depression & Mood Disorders

With the right support and strategies, meaningful change is possible.

My Background & Approach

I am the Vice President of the Northern Virginia Clinical Psychologists and on the Board of the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology and have since dedicated my career to working with children, teens, and young adults.

My journey began at a therapeutic day school, where I worked with students ages 6-18 and their families, providing individual and group therapy while collaborating with educators to create supportive learning environments. From there, I transitioned into private practice, where I have spent nearly a decade specializing in anxiety disorders, OCD, and related conditions.

My approach is rooted in connection and expertise—I take the time to understand each client’s unique experience and provide research-backed strategies to help them move forward.
